privacy policy

Ziggit is totally committed to protecting the privacy of our site visitors and customers. We know you care how information about you is used and shared. That’s why we take it seriously. We appreciate your trust that we’ll do so carefully and sensibly. Our privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) summarizes what personal information we collect, and how we use and disclose this information. This Privacy Policy also describes other important topics relating to your privacy.

By using the Ziggit website at ziggitstyle.com (the “Site”), or by choosing to submit personal information to Ziggit, you signify your consent to all of the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use this Site or submit any personal information to Ziggit.

Ziggit reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. We will reflect any such modifications to this Privacy Policy on our Site and will indicate at the top of this page the date this Privacy Policy was last amended. Your continued access to and/or use of the Site after any such changes constitute your acceptance of, and agreement to be legally bound by, this Privacy Policy, as revised. Please periodically review this Privacy Policy so that you know what personal information we collect, how we use it, and with whom we may share it.

use and collection of personal information

The information we learn from customers helps us personalize and continually improve your shopping experience at Ziggit. Personal information is information about an identifiable individual, such as your name, address, telephone number, email address or payment information (“Personal Information”). Here are the types of information we gather.

Information you give us: We collect Personal Information when you voluntarily provide it through our Site, or when you provide it to us through other means. For example, we may collect Personal Information when you:

  • Provide us with information about you through our Site;
  • Create an account;
  • Use the Site to make a purchase;
  • Contact us through email, telephone, mail, or other correspondence; or
  • Otherwise provide us with Personal Information.

The Personal Information we may collect may include:

  • When you create an account, your first and last name, contact information, such as your address, telephone number, or email address, and your selected home location for your account;
  • If you choose to make a purchase, your payment information;
  • Any other Personal Information that you voluntarily choose to submit to us.

Automatic information: We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. For example, like many websites, we use "cookies”, and we obtain certain types of information when your Web browser accesses Ziggit. Certain information, although convenient for identification, is voluntary. It is up to you whether you want to provide this or other suitable identification, subject to any legal requirements. We collect, use and disclose personal information only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances.

If you choose to provide us with Personal Information, you consent to the transfer and storage of that information on our servers located in North America.

Cookies are small files that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser, to enable our systems to recognize your browser and to provide features such as personalized greetings, and storage of items in your Shopping Cart between visits. They are used for a variety of reasons, such as tracking click streams, and for load balancing. Information tracked through these mechanisms may include, but is not limited to: (i) your IP address; (ii) the type of Web browser and operating system being used; and (iii) the pages of the Site a user visits. By using cookies, we can deliver faster service, consistent, updated results, and a better experience on our Site. Your browser gives you the option to reject cookies. However, setting your browser to reject cookies generally hinders the browser's performance and will adversely affect your experience while using our Site, including, but not limited to, the ability to make a purchase as a guest.

The "help" section of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. Additionally, you can disable or delete similar data used by browser add-ons, such as Flash cookies, by changing the add-on’s settings or visiting the website of its manufacturer. Because cookies allow you to take advantage of some of Ziggit’s essential features, we recommend you leave them turned on. For instance, if you block or otherwise reject our cookies, you will not be able to add items to your Shopping Cart, proceed to checkout, or use any Ziggit products and services that require you to sign in.

information access

Ziggit gives you access to a broad range of information about your account and your interactions with Ziggit for the limited purpose of viewing and, in certain cases, updating that information. This list will change as our Site evolves.

If you’re under the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence, you may use Ziggit only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. If you choose to visit the Site, your visit and any dispute over privacy is subject to this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions, including limitations on damages, arbitration of disputes, and application of the laws of Canada. If you have any concern about privacy at Ziggit, please contact us, and we’ll try to resolve it.

Ziggit does not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 14 years of age. If a child under 14 years of age has already provided us with Personal Information, his or her parent or legal guardian may contact us for the purpose of deleting this information.

Our business changes constantly, and our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions will also change. We may email periodic reminders of our notices and conditions, unless you have instructed us not to, but you should check our Site frequently to see recent changes. Unless stated otherwise, our current Privacy Policy applies to all information, including Personal Information, which we have about you and your account. We stand behind the promises we make, however, and will never materially change our policies and practices to make them less protective of customer information collected in the past without the consent of affected customers.

How we Protect Personal Information

The security of your Personal Information is important to us. We protect your Personal Information by maintaining physical, organizational and technological safeguards intended to help protect against unauthorized use, disclosure or access. Personal Information may only be accessed by persons within our organization, or our third-party service providers, who require such access to carry out the purposes indicated above, or such other purposes as may be permitted or required by the applicable law. Personal Information we collect is maintained in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

We retain Personal Information that we collect as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or to meet any legal requirements. We have retention standards which meet these requirements. We destroy Personal Information when it is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected.

Although we have taken measures to help protect our Site, computer systems and any Personal Information that we have collected from unauthorized use, access, disclosure, misuse, alteration or destruction, no security measures can provide absolute protection. We cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you provide to us. All third parties that obtain Personal Information from us (e.g. service providers that perform functions on our behalf) are required to protect your confidentiality and Personal Information in a manner consistent with this policy, and/or as required by law.

Some or all of the Personal Information we collect may be stored or processed on servers located outside your jurisdiction of residence, including in the United States, whose data protection laws may differ from the jurisdiction in which you live. As a result, this information may be subject to access requests from governments, courts, or law enforcement in those jurisdictions according to laws in those jurisdictions. Subject to applicable laws in such other jurisdictions, we will use reasonable efforts to ensure that appropriate protections are in place to require the data processor in that country to maintain protections on the Personal Information.

third-party data collection technology

We use third-party, interest-based advertising services to serve ads on our behalf across the Internet. These third-party services display ads tailored to your individual interests based on how you browse and shop online. We allow third-party companies to collect certain information when you visit our Site; this information is used to serve ads for our products and services when you visit the Site or other websites. These third-party services use non-personally identifiable information (such as click stream information, browser type, time and date, subject of advertisements clicked or scrolled over, device and platform information, cookie and session IDs) and personally identifiable information (such as an IP address) during your visits to this and other websites to provide advertisements about goods and services believed to be of greater interest to you. These services typically collect this information using a cookie or a third-party Web beacon or clear gif.

We work to protect the security of your Personal Information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you enter.

It’s important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and your computer. Be sure to sign off when you’ve finished using a shared computer.

As discussed above, you can always choose not to provide information, although it might be needed to make a purchase or to take advantage of additional Ziggit and Site features.

The Site may contain links to other third-party websites. These other websites may have their own privacy policies and terms and conditions that are not governed by this Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of any website(s) owned and operated by any such third parties. Other websites may collect and treat information collected differently, so we encourage you to carefully read and review the privacy policy for each website you visit. Any links from this Site to other websites, or references to products, services or publications other than those of Ziggit, do not imply the endorsement or approval of such websites, products, services or publications by Ziggit.
